How did I miss this?

Apparently Edge Wireless is going to be purchased by AT&T Wireless and should close sometime in mid-2008.  As much as I have enjoyed Edge’s great service for the past 6 years,  I’ll be happy to have better functionality and cool features with AT&T!  Plus, I will be able to update my present phone to an iPhone! *does happy dance* Source: AT&T Press release here.

Britney to cameo on How I Met Your Mother.

According to an AP article released today, Britney Spears is “having a blast” with her cameo appearance(s) on How I Met Your Mother.

AP Story can be found here

All I can say is UGH.  Please Britney, please don’t take down my favorite show like you did your career.  I will try to give her the benefit of the doubt since it could be entertaining.   My only hope is that CBS doesn’t decide to cancel the show and that she ends up being the mother.  I don’t think I could live with that outcome!

Getting back into the swing of things…

Tonight was the first time I’ve been to the gym this year.  I took it fairly easy and only went through the Weight Loss program on the elliptical.  For a little over 28 minutes, I burned 380 calories.  Not bad for the first day back.  I was surprised that I did not have too many lingering effects from the flu I had a few weeks back.  The thing that worried me the most is that I would start into a coughing fit.  Also, one of the nice things about tonight is that my co-worker is now working out at the same gym.  It definitely makes time go faster.

Will Tony be fined for comments on Goodyear?

One of the things I really like about Tony Stewart is that he’s willing to speak his mind and does not worry about the consequences. His brutal truth on issues is refreshing. Today’s latest issue (or victim?) is Goodyear. Should Tony be punished for speaking out against the official tire of NASCAR?

“That was the most pathetic racing tire I’ve ever been on in my professional career. Goodyear can’t build a tire that is worth a crap.”

Gotta love Tony for this latest controversy!

Tightening down…

After many months of dealing with SPAM messages and fraudulent BOT users being created, I have finally tightened things down on ‘Bits.  I’m sorry I’ve had to invoke the CAPTCHA process to prevent said irritants.  If you want to post a message on this site you have two options: 1) Create and account and go through registration once (with CAPTCHA images) and post a comment, or 2) Create a comment and do CAPTCHA verification every time.

I’m glad that WordPress is so extensible.  Hats off to all the WP Developers and extension Developers!  They make managing a blog so easy!

Bag O’ Bits now 1!

Wow, I didn’t even realize it but the 3rd creation of my blog has been up for a year now. It’s amazing how time passes quickly. I haven’t really posted much lately as I’ve been spending a lot of time on the Rowdy Racing Social Network. If you don’t know Rowdy and you are NASCAR fan, Rowdy is the place to be for all your NASCAR news, rumors, and plain interactive fun. The hosts are very accessible via e-mail and their podcasts are entertaining.

As for NASCAR, how about those Chevys? Being a Ford racing fan I have to say I’m impressed with what Chevy is bringing to the track week after week. I never thought I would be rooting for a Chevy Driver, but I am. Who could resist Tony “Smoke” Stewart? Besides, their commercials have been entertaining this year:
